Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the factory, ensuring products are manufactured to meet quality, cost, delivery and safety standards.
- Lead a team of 10-15 fabricators, truck drivers and storemen, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Prioritise incoming projects to meet deadlines
- Develop and implement efficient production processes and schedules.
- Ensure effective stock control and negotiation of supplier rates.
- Monitor production and adjust workflows as necessary to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other project managers and procurement to streamline operations and address production challenges.
- Oversee maintenance, inventory management, and procurement of materials.
- Lead training and development initiatives for factory staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Factory Manager or similar role, preferably in the window manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage diverse teams - someone who is self-motivated and a strong communicator.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment - and love to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Be able to read and understand technical fabrication drawings and plans.
- Have an eye for detail and quality workmanship.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills including MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Minimum 3 years experience in glazing and/or window fabrication (trade qualification preferred but not essential)
- Hold a current driver's licence
