Job description

Our client is a 100% Australian owned and operated with a strong commitment to quality and innovation, in the FMCG and food manufacturing industry. As the company continues to expand its operations, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Factory/Site Manager to join the team.
The Factory/Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production and operations at the manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring the efficient utilisation of resources, maintaining high-quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management:
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimising efficiency and minimising waste.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of production staff, including supervisors, operators, and maintenance technicians in large teams of up to 200.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Hands-on approach with a can do attitude in a fast-paced environment while having fun.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimise working capital while ensuring uninterrupted production.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors to support production requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Utilise lean manufacturing principles and tools to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Analyse production and performance to identify trends and opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred but not necessary.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in FMCG and food manufacturing, with a proven track record of success in a managerial role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams of up to 200 people.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and compliance standards.
