The Program
The Family Dispute Resolution team is a client-centred, trauma informed service, designed to provide Family Dispute Resolution, property mediation, financial counselling, child inclusive practice and support to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
The Opportunity
The Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) position will provide Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) through our Family Relationship Centre (FRC) located at Bankstown. As an FDRP you will deliver an integrated model of Family Dispute Resolution including Property Mediation and Family Relationship Services for parents, children, and their extended families.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct professional intake and assessment
- Facilitate/co-facilitate FRC information groups
- Provide FDR, Property Mediation, Child Inclusive sessions, and case coordination services to families
- Conduct on-going risk assessments and develop safety plans to mitigate risk and ensure safety
- Ensure that the needs and safety of the families always take priority
- Deliver services to quality standards, complying with relevant legislation and contractual requirements
- Maintain professional boundaries, documentation, and administrative systems according to program and legislative requirements, including planning and documentation of group and education programs
- Attend regular supervision and reflective practice groups
- Other duties as outlined by your practice manager

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary degree in Social Work, Law or Psychology, Counselling, Dispute Resolution or related field
- Registered as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney - General's Department. Evidence of accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department is required
- Working knowledge of the complexities of family violence and child protection, and thorough understanding on reporting mechanisms using DVSAT, DOORS, SAM, and MRG/ROSH
- Demonstrated experience with family separation and Family Law issues, working with multidisciplinary teams to provide a high level of performance and innovation, preferably relating to Family Relationship/Family Support area
