The Role
We’re looking for a Family Lawyer with a minimum of 3 years of experience relevant private practice experience. Experience in conveyancing and wills and estates is a plus, but it’s not a deal-breaker. What we're looking for is someone eager to find a mentor in Family Law, is senior enough to work autonomously and in a team environment and is both passionate and hungry to learn.
This position can be Full Time, Casual or Contracting, depending on your availability and level of skill, and their new office is a short walk from Westfield Hornsby.
Your day to day will involve:
- Drafting affidavits and managing filings on the Commonwealth portal,
- Taking client briefs and managing your own cases and clients, with the support of your mentor,
- Drafting, reviewing and filing legal documents,
- Negotiating settlements and representing clients in mediation and court proceedings,
- Advising clients on their legal rights and obligations, and suggesting an advised course of action,
- Prioritising team workloads by supporting your mentor’s caseload, and vice versa,
- Networking and developing new business opportunities,
