Working for this highly regarded, regional firm (that recently opened the doors to their BNE office) will offer candidates a very fresh approach to the current status quo on the family law circuit.
The firm (which are a full service, commercial law firm) have an excellent reputation for servicing clients in both the corporate & private sector throughout Queensland and that is largely down to the fact they have a great collective of skilled practitioners.
These are highly skilled lawyers (with acknowledgments in Doyles Guide) that don't take themselves too seriously, but really know how to act in the most commercial interests of their clients. Clients that some of the larger firms will have great envy for - which include HNWI's, agricultural, large and growing commercial clients.
Having central Queensland roots, this firm is by far one of the most profitable firms I have seen of this size. Their profit outdoes many of the sophisticated boutique firms in the CBD and as such, offers candidates both a secure environment to work in, but also providing high quality matters.
Added to that, the firm opened their doors in 2022 to their new Brisbane office, with the successful hire of two senior lawyers through our introductions. Both of these individuals are well on their way to equity by EOFY.
The Role
Due to the recent appointment of their Brisbane Family Law Special Counsel (who will also make equity in the next 12-18 months) the firm are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer with at least 3-4 years post admission experience served within family law. Consideration will be given to candidates up to a Senior Associate level.
The role will see you supporting the SC in the Brisbane office, with some occasional travel to FNQ every couple of weeks where you will work alongside a highly regarded, Family Law team in the local community.
You will regularly service a variety of clients - including many of the firm's large rural clientele (which use the firm not only in family law issues, but also in property transactions, estate and rural based litigation and succession planning). No one week will be the same however, as you will be involved in many areas of family law including:
- Property settlements;
- Parenting arrangements;
- Negotiated settlements and Court matters;
- Binding Financial Agreements;
- Spousal Maintenance; and
- Child Support
This is a superb opportunity for candidates who enjoy variety, flexibility (working at home and in the office is fully supported) and want to be part of a mature, but fun environment. The Brisbane office is relatively small at this stage- but with big plans to grow this location it presents great opportunity for candidates seeking something alternative. The firm are very family orientated and support candidates with outside commitments and interests.
