About the position... 

The Family Practitioner Support works across several KWY service delivery/outreach family support programs and is responsible for the support of adults, children, young people and extended kin where appropriate and as needed. The Family Practitioner will provide a complex case management approach to therapeutic support, advocacy, referrals, contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings.  

The KWY Family Practitioner Support is a highly experienced and competent worker, who delivers dedicated support and services to individuals and families allocated within the service. The worker is responsible for contributing to improvements in the quality, safety and community needs-driven distribution of services that meet the needs of Aboriginal children, young people, and their families, this work is carried out by visiting families at their home or other suitable outreach locations. The person in this role will support practitioners, including taking client lead when staff take leave and or when directed. This may include supporting and where directed running small groups.  

About you...

The successful applicant will possess skills, experience, and knowledge in working with Aboriginal people to address Child Protection and Domestic and Family Violence concerns. The applicant will operate within a therapeutic, trauma-informed framework. The applicant would have demonstrated knowledge of case management and working with Aboriginal families.  

About the pay...

  • Positions are classified under the SCHADS award, with a salary range of $82,045.60 - $88,277.80
  • The position is available full time

Other requirements…

  • You must hold a current South Australian Drivers Licence or a licence which permits you to drive in South Australia. 
  • Successful candidates will be required to clear and maintain probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), Working with Vulnerable People Check and Working with Children Check (applicants need to hold a current WWCC to apply).
