Commencing on contract period on a trial basis (paid as casual during the trial) with a view to finding the right person for full time work. Around $25/hr ($30 while casual) more will be negotiated based on skills/experience but more importantly what you demonstrate you are capable of during your trial.
If you work well and fit this could be a full time job within a few months. Your role would be primarily in producing insects that are sold as food for animals in Zoos, universities, museums etc. and to pet owners.
Your own transport is essential as there is no public transport to our location. Local person preferred who could be available more easily or who might desire to work more often for shorter days (eg between school drop off and pick up times).
Mostly care of insects in tropical environment (heated buildings that house our insect farms). Would suit a person used to working hard in hot and humid conditions.
Must be physically fit and capable, able to work alone, able to observe and adjust work according to observations/animal needs.
Work consists of preparing animal food (mostly cutting fruit/vegetables), feeding and removing left over foods, cleaning and other routine tasks. No experience required but good hand skills and prior manual experience would demonstrate your capacity for this type of work.
