THE ROLE
Due to planned growth, a new position has been created for a Feed Operations Manager. This key position will report to the Head of Farming and be responsible for planning and executing commodity procurement strategies for the feed mill operations, making significant contributions to the company's ongoing success and expansion.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with management to develop commodity procurement strategies.
- Drive procurement decisions and nurture supplier relationships.
- Work closely with the company nutritionist to provide economic rations to maximise livestock performance.
- Manage ingredient supply chain in relation to commodity requirements.
- Analyse raw ingredient markets and implement effective risk management strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Rural Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a feed milling operation.
- Prior experience in commodity purchasing is essential.
- Knowledge of animal nutrition and/or livestock markets would be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in negotiation.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
Location is flexible, being either Newcastle or Western Sydney NSW.
REMUNERATION
A salary package commensurate with the seniority of this position will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
