The JBS Mungindi Feedlot is strategically located on the Queensland and New South Wales border, 132km west of Goondiwindi in a prime grain, cotton and livestock production area. The feedlot is licensed to carry 22,400 head and feeds all breeds of cattle, including Bos indicus, British and European as well program specific breeds. The Mungindi team of approximately 16 employees live locally in the small rural community minded townships of Mungindi and Talwood, and are responsible for all feedlot operations.
About the Role:
JBS currently has an opportunity to join our Mungindi Feedlot Team. The position of Feed Truck Driver is essential to the smooth operations of the feed team and ensures our cattle are fed on time each day.
Responsibilities:
- Vehicle pre-operational checks;
- Working a 10 days, on 4 days off roster:
- Commodity (ration) batching;
- Delivery of ration to Livestock;
- Hay processing and receival;
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures;
- Work safely;
- Additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor and/or Leading Hand.
Criteria:
- Experience in operating Trucks front End Loaders and other machinery desirable;
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment;
- Some mechanical aptitude;
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task;
- Proven experience working in a similar environment;
- Basic computer skills;
- Good work ethic and a willingness to share information and skills;
- Sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices.
