Feedlot Pen Rider

We are looking for an experienced full time Pen Rider to join our team at Hells Gate Feedlot, a family-owned 20,000 head cattle feedlot located 55km East of Balranald, New South Wales.   

This role will see you working with our Livestock Team in attending to the daily livestock handling whilst providing opportunity to develop your skills in horsemanship, livestock handling and animal health management. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities include: 

• Daily livestock handling including pen riding, receiving, drafting, inducting, processing and cattle dispatch
• Animal health management - diagnosis of health symptoms and administration of health treatments
• Maintenance of animal health and movement records
• General livestock husbandry tasks
• Maintenance of clean and hygienic work environment 
• Assistance in other areas of the feedlot as required
• Compliance with Animal Welfare standards and company policies. 

The successful application must have: 

• Proven horsemanship skills
• Access to suitable horse and own tack/saddlery
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Strong commitment to animal health and welfare
• Experienced communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
• Current Drivers Licence
