As part of the Bushland Infrastructure team this position works across 5,000ha of the City's bushland to help improve and maintain a 250km recreational track and fire trail network, and associated assets, to ensure they are managed efficiently and effectively to a high standard. As a member of the team, you will also contribute to snow/ice operations on Pinnacle Road and hazard reduction burns.
Role accountabilities include:
- A range of bushland asset management duties.
- Monitor and manage all risks and adhere to council policies and procedures.
- Engage collaboratively and foster open communication.
About you
The ideal candidate should have a love for the outdoors (i.e. bushwalking, mountain bike riding, climbing) and be keen to contribute to natural area asset management. Ideally, they have experience in track and trail construction/maintenance and can operate the range of plant and equipment required to carry out this work. They should have a current Medium Rigid Driver Licence and White Card.
Holding a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and/or Land Management would be beneficial. The applicant should be proactive and able to work in challenging terrain/weather.
