About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Supervisor Recreation & Catchment Operations, you will carry out a range of natural resource management functions across a range of assets, including catchments and recreation facilities, in in order to provide safe and fit for purpose facilities suitable for public use.
Key responsibilities:
- Respond to wildfire events and participate in the delivery of the prescribed burns program for the area.
- Work in conjunction with the Fire Management team in the planning and implementation of fire management and preventative activities.
- Deliver a range of works across the Region, including grounds maintenance, landscaping, tree planting, recreational asset maintenance, fencing, and minor capital improvements, to ensure sites and facilities are safe and fit for purpose.
- Undertake patrols on Seqwater land and on water to ensure Seqwater policies are being adhered to, and take appropriate action as required.
- Deliver daily, weekly and monthly work plans in conjunction with the Senior Ranger to ensure effective and efficient delivery of works.
Hours and Locations
This role will be part of team that works on a roster including weekends, public holidays and some on-call work (shift allowances apply).
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Possess a C Class Driver’s Licence for manual vehicle (mandatory).
- Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management as a minimum; or Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management, Natural Resource Management, Horticulture (or similar); or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years’ experience in natural resource management
- Fire Fighting Level 1 (Desirable)
- Chainsaw Level 1 and 2 Certificate (Desirable)
This position has a salary starting at $68,970.24 - $87,676.89 p.a plus 12.75% superannuation.
