We are currently seeking a highly motivated Auto Electrician to join our team at our expanding in New South Wales branch. Essential for this role: Driver’s licence, can do attitude, punctual, reliable, professional and customer service focused.
Qualifications: Trade qualified with relevant industry experience.
Reporting to: Service Manager in Victoria
Role: The role of the Auto Electrician is broad and varied but requires a number of key skillsets to fulfil responsibilities within BCI Sales Pty Ltd which include but are not limited to:
- Installation of electrical systems.
- Diagnostics and fault finding onsite and offsite.
- Communication and Customer relation skills.
Installation of electrical systems / cable wring:
- Be able to install all electrical systems into buses including;
- Destination signs
- Surveillance systems
- Radio’s / UHF’s
- Additional lighting etc.
- Installation of above as per manufacturers specification and in compliance with applicable legislation.
- Be able to read, interpret wiring diagrams as required.
- Ensure that at all times the installation / wiring is of a high standard.
Diagnostics and fault finding, onsite and offsite.
With your experience in heavy vehicles be able to efficiently diagnose faults to enable product to be repaired with minimal downtime. To undertake this role successfully you need to:
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills and knowledge of computer diagnostic programmes, experience with Cummins, Wabco, Allison and ZF advantageous but not essential as onsite training can be provided.
- Demonstrate knowledge of multiplexed body control systems.
- Have knowledge of CAN systems and diagnostic procedures.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of diagnostic processes.
Communication and Customer relation skills
- Have impeccable customer skills in empathizing with their issues and at times walking them through the solution.
- At all times be clean and presentable given the frontline customer contact.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication with supervisors, internal personnel, and customers.
- Available to travel state-wide to carry out Field Service repairs.
Proficiency required to be demonstrated:
- Complete job cards and be diligent in ensuring that jobs are completed to set times.
- Excellent ability to adapt to any situation at a moment’s notice to ensure the highest possible standard of professionalism.
- Efficient time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as part of the team.
- Ability to deal with all parties in a professional and ethical manner, including discretion with sensitive information.
- Work within a team and help other trades when required.
- Provide general tools to undertake daily duties.
- A committed and motivated approach to management of self and other staff.
