Completes repairs and service to company products as directed by Customer Service Manager and Team Leader in accordance with company procedures and product manuals ensuring that work is completed in a timely and safe manner. Repairs and service will need to be carried out on-site at customers premises.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Disassembles product to be repaired or serviced and completes appropriate report detailing work required, parts needed and highlights any issues to Team Leader
- Reassembles product in accordance with product manuals and technical specifications. Completes appropriate report.
- Tests reassembled / repaired product in accordance with manuals and technical specifications. Completed appropriate report detailing test results. Advises Team Leader on completion of job.
- Uses various hand tools to fit and assemble parts which require knowledge of principles of mechanics.
- Liaises with Customers in relation to Repair / Service issues of products.
- Completes fault finding techniques and method to diagnose issues with products on-site and provides support / recommendations for rectification.
- May install repaired / serviced products at Customer site.
- Completes reports in relation to Customer visits and ensures relevant paperwork is up to date.
- Provides training to new employees in relation to repair/service of products.
- Works in a safe manner ensuring compliance with all OHS policy, procedures and guidelines.
- Participates in team meetings to improve workshop standards and procedures.
- Ensures company assets are maintained in sound working order and kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Maintain all Customer induction requirements and ensure up to date at all times.
- Conduct onsite equipment audits to ensure all equipment is safe and in good order.
- This role will require an element of on-call service/repair work and mobile contact to be available 24/7.
- Maintain customers Field Service site credentials and inductions for Industry and Mobility including medical examinations as and when required and/or due for renewal.
- Be willing and able to travel outside of Australia and demonstrate flexibility & understanding with regards to different cultures and working environments.
- Be willing to accept (within reason) in country medical and customer site assessment and requirement of travel.
- Be willing to be self-organise for site job visits (Nationally or Internationally). E.g., Legal documentations, tooling required to do the job, inductions, etc.
- Provide VTAU business with any help or assistance at the capacity needed and for the period required as directed and agreed by General Manager - Operations
- Reports to Customer Service Centre Manager
- Maintains sound working relationships with Service centre team especially Team Leaders, Service Coordinator and Service Administrator
- Maintains sound working relationships with Customers, Suppliers and Technical support.
- Appropriate Trade qualification - Cert III Light vehicle mechanical technology or Cert III Heavy commercial vehicle mechanical technology or equivalent
- Prefer completion of HSC or equivalent
- Previous experience on heavy vehicle transmissions or equivalent will be highly regarded – Further training will be provided.
- Previous experience in Field Service will be highly regarded.
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential.
