Job Summary
The Field Technician has responsibility for undertaking activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, and conducts assigned work; monitors Equipment for compliance, and Step Oiltools standards, Policy and Procedures; ensures effective communication and coordination with all other project participants.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that all aspects of safety are always adhered to. Always follow Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) requirements at each project location under the guidance of relevant onsite officers and senior personnel.
- Demonstrate a good attitude towards Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) in line with the company’s culture and ensure that courtesy and respect is always afforded to all personnel.
- Monitors all solids control and drilling waste management equipment. This includes assessing performance, as well as noting any concerns with materials and components of the equipment.
- Diagnose plant and equipment issues and prepare reports covering findings and recommendations. Subsequently select tools and equipment and coordinate / complete repairs / remedial actions (as instructed).
- Ensure that QHSE obligations and requirements are consistently met, and report, investigate, eliminate potential for recurrence or implement controls, and verify adequacy of controls as part of a team work scope.
- As part of a team work group assemble and install new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems. Follow Management of Change (MoC) process (where applicable).
- Conduct inspection and maintenance of machines and plant, ensuring that they work within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions. Estimate material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Oilfield practices and procedures preferred
- Knowledge and commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment is required.
- Knowledge of Drilling Waste Management and Solid Control Systems / Equipment preferred.

Experience
- Experience in working with a team.
- Experience working with oilfield equipment and materials preferred.
- Experience of oilfield practices and procedures preferred.
Qualifications
Training will be provided for any of the below qualifications if they are not already completed by yourself
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate (desirable but not applicable).
- Safe Working in a Confined Space (desirable but not applicable).
- Work Safely at Heights (desirable but not applicable).
- Construction Induction Training / White Card (desirable but not applicable).
- Current Forklift Certificate (desirable but not applicable).
- Current certificate in Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) (desirable but not applicable).
- Basic Offshore Safety Instruction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) (desirable but not applicable).

Work environment and physical demands, if any

- Pass a 2-yearly OGUK Offshore Medical.
