Skidata is the global leader in Parking, People, and Mountain access. Based in our Sydney Office we are looking for a motivated person to join our service team in the field.
The key function of this role is to provide service to our various customers with both software and hardware support and maintenance of our systems. Break-fix repairs both in the field and remotely are key to the success of this role.
The role is specifically related to Parking products and any operational experience in parking would be valuable. As part of the role, you will be involved with our software suite, which includes creating virtual environments using Microsoft, ESX, and Linux tools. Programming and commissioning of field equipment across a range of sites.
This role has growth opportunities within our Project and Solutions teams by providing support in the deployment of National projects. As well as the development of locally produced software.
As part of the remuneration, the package includes an attractive base salary, fully serviced company vehicle, tools, mobile phone, and laptop.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Experienced in operating systems (e.g. MS Windows server/client, Linux).
- Experienced in computer networks (e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, firewalls).
- Knowledge in virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare).
- Basic understanding of databases (e.g. MS SQL).
- Basic electrical and electronic principles
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Desire to continuously learn and refine skills and train colleagues.
- Commitment to customer service excellence.
- Well organized and the ability to prioritize.
- Operational experience in parking would be valuable
Effective communication skills with all stakeholders
Key Responsibilities, Tasks, and Activities:
- Ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner utilizing service tools.
- Complete installation and commission paperwork.
- Completion of warranty and repair spare parts paperwork.
- Submit purchase requests for local parts.
- Take responsibility for accurate record-keeping of parts in your possession.
- Notify the manager of any key developments and potential faults.
- Respond to manager requests in a timely manner.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with After Hours and Callouts procedures.
- Install and fit equipment.
- Take and maintain all appropriate gear to sites.
- Commission equipment (software and hardware).
- Observe, test, and monitor equipment functioning.
