Due to our current growth, we are actively recruiting professionals to join our team within workforce villages across locations in QLD & NSW.
The Role:
- Provide breakfast, crib lunch, desserts or dinner service for residents on site (be able to work both nighshift and dayshift on a rotating roster)
- Ensure food presentation, product presentation and meal service is to Sirrom standards
- Work within budgeted food costs
- Maintain minimal food wastage
- Prepre and serve meals according to the menu and Sirrom Guidelines in line with client requirements
- Maintain a strict health and hygiene standards and systems in the kitchen
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum 2 years' work experience on a remote mine-site village or workforce camp.
- Bulk catering experience, hands on cooking of bistro & buffet style services.
- Must have the ability to lead utilities and deliver high quality service, food service and preparation methods.
- Hands on role, responsible for all areas of the kitchen and dining room areas, including cleaning dishes and kitchen equipment.
- Being a supportive mentor and coach to all kitchen staff, including dining room attendants.
- Strong food costing and budgeting control for ordering and stock take control.
- Problem solving skills with ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to enforce a strict health and hygiene standards and systems in the kitchen.
- Display a friendly and considerate disposition, ensuring a harmonious work environment.
What you need:
- Cookery qualifications - minimum (or equivalent) Certificate III in Commerical Cookery
- Food Safety for Supervisor's Certificate (desirable)
- Must have a current open driver's license.
- Proof of current Right to Work in Australia.
- National Police Check - no more than 1 month old
- To be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening.
The successful candidates will have strong experience in a fast-paced bulk cooking operation.
