Fiji - Workboat Operator

About the OpportunityHall Pacific, a leading civil, marine, and dredging contractor in the Pacific Islands, is seeking Workboat Operators who are residing in Fiji to join a newly awarded project in Ba River. This is an opportunity for you to develop your skills with Fiji’s premier marine and dredging contractor.  As a Workboat Operator you will be responsible for operating the vessel and working in coordination with the Dredge Operator to monitor dredge pipes and anchors. The project is estimated to go for 7 to 9 months with day and night shifts as required.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Operate a 12-metre workboat.
• Monitor and operate vessel controls to ensure smooth functioning.
• Direct and assist others in placing/moving anchors and the floating pipeline.
• Maintain vessel availability to meet or exceed planned efficiency goals.
• Operate in a safe manner, adhering to company OH&S policies.

About you:

• Prior experience as a Workboat Operator operating commercial vessels on marine projects.
• Marine qualifications to operate a 12-meter workboat (essential).
• Master 5/Master 24m near coastal certificate. 
• A positive can-do attitude and strong communication skills. 
• Must be willing to assist in general duties of Marine and dredging projects in accordance with OHS regulations.
