We’re looking for someone to join the Finance team as a Finance Analyst for a fixed term appointment of 12 months.
The role is responsible for supporting the achievement of corporate strategic goals by providing quality service and expertise in delivering accounting and financial systems services to the RACT Group.
The purpose of this business partnering role is to prepare robust budgets and financial forecasts and provide timely and accurate financial and non-financial data and analysis on business performance.
About the role:
- Business partnering with leaders of RACT’s departments and Strategic Business Units.
- Conducting comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting to support the company's financial performance and identify key drivers.
- Collaborating with cross functional departments, including Operations, Member Experience, Technology, Insurance, and Mobility, to gather data and validate cost allocations to Strategic Business Units.
- Assisting in maintaining the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) for RACT Insurance Pty Ltd as required by APRA.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts by collaborating with various departments, providing financial insights, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Preparing regular management reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate financial performance, key metrics, and actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels.
- Developing and maintaining financial models to support decision-making processes, scenario analysis, and long-term strategic planning.
- Assist in evaluating investment opportunities and business initiatives through financial analysis.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities within the financial planning and analysis function including best practice use of financial systems, operational processes and FP&A tools.

About you:
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them.
- High level of proficiency using accounting systems and BI tools.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Structures information to meet the needs and understanding of the intended audience.
- High level of personal drive and self motivated.
- Experience in using Microsoft 365 suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience using Dynamics 365, Power BI or Acterys desirable but not essential.
- Proven accounting experience within a business/industry setting, or in providing business and strategic planning advice.
