The Role
Reporting to the CEO and Business Manager, the emphasis will be on providing critical daily and strategic information for our commercial and operational business units to support their continued growth and success.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who has extensive financial experience with exceptional leadership skills and wishes to join a growing business. We are seeking a forward thinking, hands on and strategic professional.
Duties and responsibilities
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of the finance department
- Lead the finance team with multiple direct reports
- Ensuring the completion of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P&L statements are completed in a timely manner
- Preparation of monthly results including commentary around variance to budget
- Preparation of finance papers for quarterly Board meetings
- Management of annual budget and forecasting
- Cashflow forecasting
- Preparing the annual accounts for external accountants
- Submitting taxation returns such as BAS, FBT, and GST and liaison with external tax specialists
- Liaising with the banks and Fex specialists to manage SSG currency exposure
- Providing commentary and analysis around the company’s performance to the management team
- Providing financial advice to Senior Management team regarding initiatives to improve the company’s financial performance
- Be involved in ad-hoc finance projects in conjunction with the Business Manager
- Provide backup and guidance for payroll, and meet all EOY reconciliations and associated reporting requirements.
Experience and Skills
Qualifications/Experience:
- CPA qualified accountant and/or have minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in the finance space
- Knowledge of Navision and ERP systems
Competencies/Qualities:
- Proactive, analytical with an attention to detail, driven mindset, an excellent communication (both written and verbal), capable of multitasking and above all work well within a team environment
- Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in board presentations
- Ethical and professional in all business dealings
- Self-motivated, punctual with excellent attention to detail
