Job Description
- Support the establishment of Squadron Energy's standalone finance function, as part of its decentralisation from the Tattarang Group, including implementing and maintaining appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure and payroll procedures.
- Preparation of complex month end journals including accruals, prepayments and reallocations.
- Perform high level analysis on profitability and identify areas for improvement or review.
- Complete complex balance sheet reconciliations including identification and resolution of reconciling items.
- Develop in-depth understanding of results and provide input and analysis of monthly reporting packs and meetings.
- Assist in annual audit.
- Preparation of all tax and statutory compliance requirements.
- Providing analysis to support internal audit and risk management, ensuring robust controls and policies are in place and adhered to.
- Establishing and continually modifying general accounting procedures and systems to drive process improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of technical position papers with respect to accounting standards.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent.
- CA or CPA qualified.
- 2-5 years relevant experience.
