The purpose of the role is to contribute to the lives of people with a disability and their families through the ongoing quality improvement and service delivery across group of companies.
The Finance Manager & Team LeaderPlan Management will play a pivotal role in the finance and operations of the Plan Management service delivery, while simultaneously advising and supporting the strategy and operations of the Direct Employ service in relation to NDIS compliant financial operations.
This multifaceted position requires a combination of deep technical knowledge of NDIS financial mechanics, technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements to ensure the smooth functioning of financial and accounting processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesNDIS Financial Operational IP:
- Develop and manage the companies Operational IP across NDIS financial compliance practices.
- Develop and manage internal knowledge of NDIS pricing arrangements rules interpretation, and practical application within the organisation.
- Consult and advise teams across the organisation on technical financial cases in relation to the NDIS Pricing Arrangement and ongoing changes in relation to PACE
- Lead and support cases with financially technical NDIS matters
Financial Management, Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial activities of Plan Management department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and NDIS rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Direct the preparation of financial reports that summarise and forecast the organisation's financial position including income statements, balance sheets and analyses of future earnings and income while collaborating with other departments to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic financial decision-making
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Plan Management professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge-sharing.
- Set performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with NDIA and compliance with financial legislation and standards including determining, implementing, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans in consultation with other managers within the organisation
- Stay updated on changes in NDIA regulations and assess their impact on the company's financial practices.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation within the Plan Management department.
- Implement efficient and effective accounting processes to ensure compliance and streamline workflows, including coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting systems
- Continuously seek ways to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Lead and deliver the Plan Management systems transformation Project, assessing and managing the capital finance proposals and the financial status of the project
- Operate as the product owner of the new Plan Management system
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with overall company goals.
- Provide financial insights and support for strategic initiatives and projects.
- Effective communication and cooperation on compliance-related matters.

- Stay informed about industry best practices and share relevant updates with the team.

About You
Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. Minimum CPA ASA or equivalent certification
- Over 3 years NDIS experience across finance practices within the guidelines of the NDIS
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and NDIS compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical experience and problem-solving abilities which allow you to adapt and understand the NDIS Pricing Arrangement and provide accurate and practical advice internally and to clients.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and demonstrated experience and capability of NetSuite, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Excel
- Proven project management skills with the ability to design and deliver projects in a commercial manner. Formal training or certification is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, team management skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in adapting to fast-paced change with internal business structure and outside industry practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - and great phone manner
- Experience and/or knowledge of the lived experience of people with a disability and the NDIS, highly regarded.
