The Centre Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) is a community organisation funded by the Queensland Government to respond to adults and children affected by domestic and family violence. We provide counselling and crisis/court support, referrals, risk assessment and safety planning, and high risk integrated service responses, as well as trauma informed recovery focused support for women. CADA is active in advocacy, community education and early intervention and, prevention strategies work towards a future free from domestic and family violence, in partnership with government and organisations working in the sector. We operate from offices at Caboolture and Strathpine.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Officer will be responsible for a range of duties including processing of payroll, creditor and debtor payments, reporting and other tasks as required to support the Manager Finance and Operations.
QUALIFICATION
Qualification in finance or related field of studies and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position, including processing of payroll and working with XERO.
REQUIREMENTS
- XERO software experience
- Advanced computer knowledge and skills, particularly in Excel
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritise work
- High level organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment and with a diverse client group
RESPONSIBILITIES
- XERO accounting software processing
- Debtor and Creditor payment processing
- Processing of timesheets, rosters and payroll processing
- Assist with inputting statistical data in database nominated by funding body, including quarterly acquittals via P2i (reporting portal)
- Preparation of XERO Management reports, XERO Budget Manager, Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss Statements
- Assist with financial and compliance reporting to the Board
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Assist with audits, preparation and monitoring of budgets
- Maintain a working knowledge of all legislative changes within the finance field that are relevant to the organisation
- Contribute to the administration and operations team as required
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Manager and or CEO
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or related field of studies and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position, including processing of payroll and working with XERO.
- Ability to work in a demanding multi-disciplinary team demonstrating a positive, composed and reliable manner with minimal supervision and proactively manage workload to a high standard.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated computer and accounting software literacy (MS Office Suite, XERO, DEXT and TANDA).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with people from a variety of circumstances and communication styles including culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Understanding of the dynamics of domestic and family violence is desirable but not necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- National Criminal History Check, police check and police vetting
- Must inform CADA of any Domestic and Family Violence applications or orders naming you as respondent (current or in the past)
- Blue Card for Working with Children (Queensland)
- Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
