Finance Support Officer (Contract)
Hours: 38 Hours p/week, temporary contract with hybrid arrangement
Contract Length: ASAP Start, 3-month contract with potential 9-month extension
Salary: $38-40 p/hour + super
Location: Local Council, Eastern Suburbs Melbourne

At Public Sector People, we specialise in providing the best talent for public sector organisations. Our client, a leading local council in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, is seeking a dedicated Finance Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. 

Job Description
Our client’s Storms operational team handles extensive evidence collection. The Finance Support Officer will primarily focus on matching this information to the General Ledger and entering it into the claim spreadsheet per location/address. Additionally, the role may require supporting the Storms operational team.

Responsibilities:

• Collating invoices and support photographs, ensuring they meet claim requirements.
• Matching evidence to invoices and the general ledger.
• Updating claims and submitting them to the State Government.
• Handling State Government queries on prior claims and, when necessary, resubmitting information.
• Liaising with the Storms Operational team.
• Assisting the Storms Operational team if they fall behind.

Job Requirements:

• Strong data entry and collation experience.
• Good financial acumen and adequate knowledge.
• Experience with TechnologyOne is necessary.
