We are partnering with a community-focused Not-for-Profit organisation based in the inner North of Melbourne. They strive to make a positive impact on some of the most vulnerable people in society. During their busy year end period, they are looking to bring an experienced Financial Accountant on board on a temporary basis.
Responsibilities
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance during the year-end period. Your responsibilities will include:
- General Ledger Management: Reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger.
- Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Audit Support: Collaborating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes and controls.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CA program completion preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a Not-for-Profit environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
