Your role
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant ensures the provision of timely and accurate Financial Accounting information and analysis while assisting with the forecast and budget submission to enable management to make informed business decisions.
As Financial Accountant, you'll be accountable for providing insight and analysis on financial reporting and assisting with budgeting and reporting. Responsibilities include:
Financial analysis of actual results against budget to support decision making and ensure targets are met
Preparing monthly journals and assisting with monthly management reporting
Maintaining the general ledger to ensure accurate processing of transactions
Assisting with year-end statutory reporting
Liaise with external auditors
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, including the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Assisting with planning, risk management and strategy
Working with the internal stakeholders to drive process efficiency
Ad hoc tasks
About you
You will have:
ICAANZ, or CPA qualification
Experience in a technical accounting role
Understanding of financial and management accounting
Experience working in a professional services environment is preferred
Attention to detail, complex problem solving, and strong written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong communicator who is able to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Client service focus with a willingness to engage with stakeholders at all levels coupled with a professional approach and presentation
Track record of being able to prioritise tasks and drive efficiency
Awareness of Trust Accounting (in a legal services environment preferred but not essential).
