Financial Accountant (12-month Part-time role) - 4 days per week (0.8FTE)
Are you a skilled Financial Accountant looking for an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's leading publishing companies? Penguin Random House is seeking a talented individual to join our team for a 12-month fixed term position as a Financial Accountant based at our Scoresby* site.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of Penguin Random House.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Managing the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Conducting financial analysis and providing insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements and audit processes.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
