Financial Accountant (12-month Part-time role) - 4 days per week (0.8FTE)

Are you a skilled Financial Accountant looking for an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's leading publishing companies? Penguin Random House is seeking a talented individual to join our team for a 12-month fixed term position as a Financial Accountant based at our Scoresby* site.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of Penguin Random House.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Managing the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.
4. Conducting financial analysis and providing insights to support decision-making.
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
6. Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements and audit processes.
7. Participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
5. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
