The Purpose of the Role
Endeavour Group has approximately 2,500 leases across its network. We currently have a team within ALH, that is responsible for the hotel leases, that will now take on the rest of the group's lease portfolio (BWS, Dan Murphy's, Pinnacle etc). This role will assist in the management of the day to day lease accounting processes and reporting for Endeavour Group, ensuring they are completed with integrity and accuracy and in a timely manner.
What You'll Be Doing
Month End Activities
- Prepare and post lease accounting journals including depreciation, interest charges, asset and liability movements in line with AASB 16 requirements
- Prepare and review short-term and low-value lease entries
- Prepare and post journals for lease re-measurements, new leases acquisitions and lease surrenders
- Review and update system settings relevant to lease accounting
- Prepare balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and movement schedules that support financial reporting requirements
- Perform bi-annual lease option reviews to determine if future options are reasonably certain to be exercised in line with AASB 16 and Endeavour Group guidance
- Assist with preparation of financial reporting packs and lease disclosures and commentary
- Provide assistance to external auditors
- Assist with the implementation of our new lease management system, due to go-live in September 2023
- Provide assistance and support with data migration and validation from our two incumbent systems
- Review lease documentation to ensure lease management system data inputs are accurate and update AASB 16 system settings accordingly
- Review monthly data sets in our lease management system to ensure accuracy and completeness
- CPA / CA or equivalent
- 4+ years post degree experience including exposure to AASB 16 lease accounting in a multi-lease environment
- Exposure to MRI Horizon, NomosOne, PEPS+ or other lease management software
- Intermediate Excel skills (including Pivot Tables and Lookups)
- Ability to document and deliver process improvements
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Drive and tenacity to problem solve to overcome challenges
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments
- Ability to engage various parts of the business to deliver optimal outcomes
