We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to manage our State Government clients accounting and financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for producing financial results, managing the month-end close process, assisting with budgeting and investment decisions, and ensuring compliance with tax and statutory reporting obligations. The role is an initial 2-3 month contract with a strong possibility of extension/go permenant
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss statements, internal management reports, and cashflow statements.
- Manage the general ledger, including monthly balance sheet, banking, and inter-company reconciliations.
- Conduct financial analysis to provide timely and accurate information for business decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end statutory accounts preparation.
- Provide financial advice and support in line with the Financial Management Act 1994 (Cth).
About You
- Analytical skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Keen attention to detail and a strong interest in data analysis.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work within time constraints.
- Professional accounting certification (CA or CPA).
- Experience in the energy or related sector/industry - Desirable
