The OpportunityAn outstanding opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified accountant to join an established and reputable Australian business. Our client sits within the FMCG industry and have been operating for almost 40 years, demonstrating a track record of growth through organic expansion and strategic growth. 

The role offers a fantastic office space in Port Melbourne with on site parking and 1-2 days WFH flexibility. The working environment is best described as collaborative and supportive, they take pride in their culture. As the Financial Accountant, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and be responsible for the month-end processing, preparation of board reports and financial statements and supporting the wider team. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be playing a key role in supporting the accounting function. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Completing month-end procedures in a timely and effective manner, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations 
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies 
• Assisting with the preparation of management reports involving analysis and adding insights for financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Be actively involved in providing support to the wider team such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking
• Assist in the development of documentation of accounting policies, ensuring application of those policies across the team
• Provide technical support for the wider finance team

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• You are CPA / CA qualified
• You have approx. 4 years experience in a relevant accounting role
• Experience / exposure to Netsuite is essential 
• A high attention to detail, strong work ethic as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and operate efficiently in a highly complex environment
• An eagerness to advance and develop your skills and progress your career long term
