To continue our success, we currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Financial Accountant, located in Forrestfield WA.
Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager, here is your opportunity to drive best practice across the financial controls team for Quaker Oats Perth, to challenge the status quo, build working relationships with key leaders and financial employees, whilst preparing timely and accurate financial accounts, balance sheets, cash-flow reporting, and general journal transactions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Process all financial information and accounts (journal entries, month-end, trial balance, balance sheet, P&L statements, sales reports, capital spending and cash flow)
- Assist in preparation of annual income tax return for US Corporate and Local, and complete other statutory returns as needed (FBT, BAS, etc)
- Oversee the fixed asset management function and manage transaction accounting systems (AP, AR, Payroll, Fixed Assets); provide backup for Payroll function and Project Accountant function when needed
- Owner of Master Data Files and Asset register
- Monitor raw materials, packaging materials and spares inventory; including stocktake procedures, raw material movement data input, and sub-ledger reconciliation into the GL
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- CA/CPA qualification with 2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- PC & ERP systems experience
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, monitoring, and coordination
- Excellent communication skills with a successful track record of collaborating and liaising with key stakeholders
- Strong skills in planning, organisation, analytics, and attention to detail, with the ability to think laterally and challenge accepted norms to drive positive change
