The CFO/COO responsibilities will ensure operational efficiencies across all business functions are achieved while maintaining a focus on financial oversight. You will be a key advisor for the Partnership in respect to the firm's strategic planning and growth objectives. Managing relationships with external stakeholders including Suppliers, Bankers, Insurers, Accountants, and Regulatory Bodies will be a key element of the role. This role will lead a team across various functions, including Finance, IT, Business Development, Knowledge Management, Human Resources, Archive Services, and Office Administration. Additionally, this executive appointment will play a key role in the firm's ESG initiatives, reflecting the organisation's dedication to environmental, social, and governance practices.Specifically, key accountabilities include:Financial Management:
- Developing and implementing financial strategies to ensure the firm's financial health and stability.
- Overseeing financial reporting, including weekly, monthly, and annual reports, and internal performance metrics.
- Management of budgets, forecasts, and ongoing improvement of financial reporting systems.
- Debtor management and reporting to ensure timely collections.
- Oversight of statutory reporting to regulatory bodies such as ATO (Australian Taxation Office), ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission), etc.
- Streamlining and optimizing operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity, including ongoing management of the Firm's practice management system and integration initiatives.
- Oversight of the Firm’s Quality Assurance function, including internal audit processes and maintenance of applicable IT accreditations.
- Lead the firm's management function, including finance and operations, human resources, IT, BD and Marketing teams.
- HR management and reporting in collaboration with the Managing Partner, including assistance with staff training, development, performance appraisals and performance management.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of the firm’s strategic planning and objectives.
- Identifying growth opportunities and development initiatives.
- Lead/support firm and partner business plans/initiatives to support firm growth strategies.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Liaison with external audit, banking, insurance, and other corporate services providers.
- Providing leadership and direction to the finance, operations, and administrative teams.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Leading by example and promoting professional development and continuous learning.
- Oversight of risk management processes and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Management of firm insurance policies.
- Oversight of the Firm’s IT support function in collaboration with the IT Manager.
