Financial Accountant to join the Finance team in Sydney.The role is based at our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices with the flexibility to work from home and sites across Australia as agreed and required for the role.This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Financial Controller and is key in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the SIXT Balance Sheet, and completion of the month and year-end close process including audit deliverables as well as preparation and support of the business planning process.
Your key responsibilities will include:- Completing month-end journals (including accruals) and reviewing month-end results to provide insightful and meaningful commentary on variances against set metrics (e.g. forecast/budget)
- Calculating prepayments and provision balances, and applying appropriate methodology for estimating assets and liabilities
- Collaborating with other teams to ensure timely action of outstanding items (e.g. banking/payroll)
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register with adherence to relevant company policies and standards
- Managing and processing commission payments and rebates, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Completing daily and month bank reconciliations, and ensuring appropriate records of transactions and supporting information are stored and readily accessible
- Completing balance sheet accounts, preparing ageing of reconciling items, and completing clearance activity in a timely manner
- Preparing and compiling audit and related information for all statutory and internal audits
Qualifications- 3 years’ experience within a Financial Accountant or similar role coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications
- CA/CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
- Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communicator – in writing, spoken word, and presentation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency across the MS suite platforms and other reporting systems and tools
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to make appropriate decisions
- Self-motivated, energetic and flexible with a high degree of initiative
- Flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances
- Ability to work in Australia
