They are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Financial Accountant to join the team and contribute to continued success.
Role Overview:
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the Group entities and investment funds. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting (50%):
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations, prepare month-end schedules, including accruals, fixed asset register (FAR), and prepayments.
- Conduct inter-company reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable for the group of companies.
- Handle general team administration and filing.
- Assist with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and income tax.
- Support the audit process.
- Prepare dividend statements and share certificates.
- Complete all accounting functions accurately and on time.
Fund Accounting (20%):
- Oversee day-to-day bank reconciliations for investment funds and trading-related accounting activities.
- Manage and reconcile control accounts related to cash/clearing units and BDA accounts.
- Ensure all accounting functions are completed accurately and on time.
- Fulfil all reporting requirements correctly and lodge reports on time.
Maintain Fund Unit Registers (10%):
- Assist with unit transfers between funds and perform reconciliation calculations as required (including substitution and intra-fund assignments).
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of unit substitutions and assignments.
Financial Settlements Administration (10%):
- Assist with financial settlements of loans.
- Process partial and final discharges as required.
- Support the administration of loan refinancing.
- Ensure financial settlements are timely and well-managed.
- Process discharges and refinance accurately and timely.
Compliance & Training (10%):
- Undertake ongoing training and professional development to meet training requirements and keep qualifications/knowledge current.
- Adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Meet training and development requirements.
- Ensure no policy breaches are recorded.
Preferred Qualifications and Prerequisites:
- CPA/CA qualified or working towards it.
- At least 3 year's experience in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of accounting and tax principles.
- Mastery of accounting software (experience with Xero preferable).
- Passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong Excel skills.
