What are we looking for?
In this newly created role you will be supporting the Financial Manager to deliver and execute the day-to-day finance function of the business. The Financial Accountant is a pivotal role having close relations with peers and managers across the group, and liaison and oversight of outsourced accounting functions. You are an ideal candidate for this role if you are a self-motivated individual, have a passion for the numbers, excellent communication skills, and lead by example. A strong systems knowledge will be key to the success of this role.
About the Role:
- Process weekly invoicing
- Assist with End of Month processes including relevant accruals, journals and reconciliations
- Review P&L and balance sheet items
- Conduct analysis of variances from budgets and financial results
- Maintain Fixed Assets Register
- Development of SOPs for all tasks and functions
- Oversee outsourced finance staff
- Ad hoc projects and tasks as directed by the Finance Manager and directors/senior management
- Develop strong system knowledge
- Look for efficiencies and improvements to systems and cost savings
- Assist in building a trusted and robust financial reporting team
About You:
- Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in financial accounting role
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
- Competent in using Microsoft Office suite & MS Dynamics (or similar accounting program)
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with managers to understand their needs and goals
- High level communication and interpersonal skills
- Display a calm, productive approach in our fast-paced environment identifying and resolving any problems or customer concerns effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities

Hours: Permanent full-time role -38 hours p/w M-F
