About the Role…
We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to oversee the transactional processes of finance to ensure accurate and timely financial and management reporting of the business. This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager and working alongside a tight knit team of 5.
Responsibilities included:
- Manage, lead and develop two direct Reports
- Responsible for preparing all the group related taxes - Corporate income tax, GST, FBT and land tax.
- Be responsible for producing monthly P&L for the Clubs and balance sheets with commentary
- Owner of Departments Financial Reports and Expense Analysis
- Provide analysis and commentary regarding the financial and operational performance of the Business
- Responsible for Treasury, daily cashflow and monitor the bank account balances
- Owner of the Stocktake process.
- Responsible for the GL Structure and GL maintenance
- Responsible for the COGS process, analysis and reconciliation
- Responsible for the fixed Asset register – ensure asset monitor process is adequate and assets are kept up to date
- Assist in the annual Budget process.
- Assist in preparation of monthly, yearly and 3-year forecasts
- Responsible for the Intercompany process
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Management of the Petty cash process
- Management of the Club Grants process to ensure we are compliant with the NSW Govt Requirements
- Responsible for the SAFE process and associated transactions
- Oversee the Annual leave and Long service leave provisions
- Oversee the Bank Reconciliation Process
- Drive Process Improvement – Always looking to automate accounting and business processes
- Other Ad-hoc duties as required
Essential Criteria:
- CPA or CA Qualified with a minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience in a similar role
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency status
- Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling Qualifications (or a willingness to obtain)
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and Verbal Communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
