As Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving financial analysis and reporting to the organisation. You will provide detailed modelling and recommendations, and take a proactive and curious approach to processes and systems usage, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
The role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and analyse information and reports to support the firm’s financial planning, control, and performance management processes.
- Provide structured analysis of production activity, including profitability analysis using our production cube analysis tools.
- Generate and analyse ad-hoc reports as requested and work closely with IT to convert into system-generated reports where appropriate.
- Assist with Month-End close, reconciliations and reporting.
- Contribute to finance projects, upgrades, and implementations with a focus on improving systems and processes.
- Provide support to other Finance team members in areas such as billing, accounts payable, and trust transactions.
- Ensure the firm’s business intelligence dashboards are relevant and accurate. Develop new reports, including graphical representations.
- Prepare and review client and matter profitability reports.
- Utilise in-depth understanding of the revenue/billing system to ensure accuracy of key production/WIP/utilisation reports.
- Qualifications in Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong experience in financial analysis and assessing implications for non-financial users.
- Extensive experience in developing financial models to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and reporting systems.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to think laterally and solve problems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of Aderant/CMS is advantageous.
