  • Finance Analyst role – Refugee Targeted Opportunity
  • Permanent full-time opportunity, Parramatta based
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $95,516 to $105,532 + super

The role provides finance operational advice and undertakes financial operations for the Biodiversity Conservation Trusts’ (BCT) state-wide programs and services.


This is a targeted role under GSE Rule 26, and to qualify you must have entered Australia on or after 1 December 2015 on a Refugee & Humanitarian (Migrant) (Class XB)


The Financial Analyst works as part of a team supporting the delivery of budgeting, financial management and reporting, fund and investment management, and delivery of financing services for the Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT).


About the Role


Reporting into the Manager, Finance Funds and Investment, you will be highly motivated in undertaking many financial and reporting aspects of the BCT’s programs and services, including financial operations, preparation of actual results and assisting in budgets and forecast and adhoc reporting to inform management and executive decision making


  • Assist with preparation of budgets and monthly forecast updates
  • Oversee BCT internal payment processes and working with delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate landholder payments
  • Preparation of management accounting entries
  • Maintaining and updating financial master data e.g. profit/cost centres, project numbers, WBS
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for executives and program owners

To be successful in the role you will need


  • To be a team player with strong multi tasking skills.
  • Have advanced Excel skills and previous SAP experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for the protection of the Environment and previous work experience within the Public Sector would be advantageous

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and membership or studying towards gaining membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

The BCT also has restrictions on staff participation in its funded PLC programs. No additional funding, beyond that already agreed to by the BCT, may be sought or approved during time as a BCT employee or for a 12-month period following termination of employment.
