What you’ll be doing
In this role you will be using your Financial Planning & Analysis skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, consolidate data from multiple sources and provide valuable insights to support decision-making processes across Athena. You will have a passion for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis to help drive a business forward.
Over the last 3 years Athena has expanded and evolved into a more complex business with multiple funding sources and distribution channels including partnership arrangements. We are looking for an experienced FP&A manager to help with budgeting and forecasting as well as strategic decision making. To be successful in the role you will love rolling your sleeves up, diving into the detail, improving the existing processes and gaining insights as to the levers we can pull to outperform. You will interact regularly with the CEO, COO/CFO and leadership team. This role will be critical for preparing Athena to scale up and enter the next phase of growth.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and assumptions for financial modelling and budgeting
- Provide financial insights and Analysis to support strategic decision-making processes ensuring accuracy and alignment with organisational goals
- Support the founders with equity and debt capital raising.
- Develop out the maturity of Athena’s finance function including tools, processes, reporting and insights
- Analise product profitability across channels and products
- Support the CFO and Executive team with Ad Hoc analysis and insight into the financial performance of the business
- Monitor, review and prepare the presentation of the management financials for discussion with the relevant leadership team members
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum 4 years work experience in finance
- Experience in financial analysis, modelling and developing financial projections.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools
- Proven track record in improving processes and delivering against deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to think strategically and implement initiatives in a way that delivers business outcomes
