We are seeking a horticultural professional for the part-time contract position of Fire Mitigation Team Member as part of Council’s Fire to Flourish project, a federally funded community and landholder resilience project.
You will be responsible for supporting the Environment & Natural Assets Team in the on-ground management of vegetation and fine fuels on public lands through brush cutting, pruning and clearing vegetation. You will also assist in the implementation of Council’s Regional Bushfire Management Area Plan treatments and support the project’s landholder resilience and preparedness objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to operate in a physically demanding environment and should hold knowledge and experience in the management of native and roadside vegetation for fire prevention, or significant experience in the horticultural field.
The salary for this role will be $76,238 per annum, pro-rata for part time hours. Ordinary days of work are Monday through to Wednesday, and contract expiry is 31 March 2025.
