About the role

As Fire Safety Officer you will play a crucial role in safeguarding premises and occupants by ensuring compliance with Fire Safety standards and emergency protocols.  Your expertise in Fire Safety and emergency planning is vital for the execution of projects and operational programs and meeting fire and emergency requirements for council as part of the Safe City and Asset Protection team.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate successful delivery of Safe City and Asset Protection projects, including fire training and building security
  • Offer internal support and advice on building security, Fire Safety, and emergency management to council departments
  • Engage contractors and stakeholders for Fire Safety maintenance and training programs
  • Provide technical support for data collection and analysis
  • Manage legislative compliance and maintenance records for Fire Safety installations across council assets

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Have relevant professional qualification and/or substantial equivalent experience as Fire Safety Advisor/Fire and Emergency Planning
  • Hold a current Queensland C class licence
  • Have a current Fire Safety Advisor qualification or ability to acquire within three months of commencement
  • Have Demonstrated experience in Fire Safety and Emergency Planning
  • Be safety conscious and diligent with an ability to multitask

  • A pre-employment medical

This is a permanent full time position, Level 4 with a salary commencing at $85,139 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
