AddressHalcyon Knights is seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to join a vital state government department in Adelaide CBD. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced in security engineering, particularly in firewall management and configuration. The role is an initial contract of 06 months with the potential for extension.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- As a Firewall Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting BAU security operations within the department. This includes day-to-day maintenance and configuration of firewalls, implementing security controls, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to enhance security posture.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess security needs and action requests.
- Maintain and configure firewalls to protect internal resources from cyber threats.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to incidents promptly.
- Collaborate with other security team members to develop and implement security policies.
- Provide security guidance and support to other IT teams.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in security engineering, preferably with Check Point firewalls.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO, etc.).
- Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pass a security clearence
- Compliance with all COVID-19 directions as per South Australian Public Health Act 2011.
- Must be a PR Holder or a citizen
