About the Role:

Join Our Team as a First Aid Coordinator!

Are you passionate about ensuring the well-being of Prep – Year 12 students in an educational environment? We're seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and take charge of providing essential first-aid support, managing health management practices, and promoting a safe and healthy environment for our students.

You will possess:

  • Certification in First Aid and CPR, with demonstrated experience in administering immediate first-aid assistance in emergency situations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing management plans for students with specific medical needs, ensuring their safety and integration within a community setting.
  • Proficiency in conducting training sessions for staff on the proper use of medical equipment, including epi-pens, asthma inhalers, nebulisers, and defibrillators.
  • Strong collaboration skills with healthcare professionals to review and update First-Aid policies, practices, and resources, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Prior experience in providing first-aid support during events, excursions, and activities in an educational or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety guidelines to oversee the maintenance of First-Aid Kits, medication cabinets, and other essential medical equipment.
  • Ability to conduct research on health management practices to enhance services provided by the College.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage student medical needs, including conditions like asthma, diabetes, and anaphylaxis, with a focus on timely and appropriate care.
  • Experience in monitoring and replenishing medical supplies within budgetary constraints and conducting regular stocktakes.
  • Proficiency in performing regular maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of equipment like defibrillators.
  • Strong communication skills to generate incident reports, liaise with relevant authorities, and effectively communicate with parents regarding student health issues.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with pastoral care teams to support students' holistic well-being, including arranging educational sessions on health-related topics.
  • Experience in coordinating immunization efforts for staff and students in partnership with healthcare professionals and local authorities.
  • Possession of a current, valid Blue Card.
