First Aid Officer / On Site Nurse

A pleasant 3 hour drive north of Melbourne, our Cobram Food Processing Facility is located on the banks of the Murray River in the picturesque Goulburn Valley. The Cobram site specialises in processing sheep and goats and has the ability to handle over 4,000 head per day, operating five days per week. JBS Cobram is looking for a First Aid Officer or Nurse to manage our First Aid Centre.  You will be directly involved with injury management and new staff pre-employment assessments.  Your knowledge and employee engagement and interaction is vital to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities:

• Daily injury management / First Aid needs of 300 employees on a busy manufacturing site.
• Supporting business objectives within the area of Injury Management and Rehabilitation.
• Liaise with Human Resources, Safety Officer, Injury Management/Return to Work Coordinator with regards to injury management.
• Assist in coordination of pre-employment medicals.
• Coordinate various vaccine programs.
• Assist in coordination of health and wellbeing programs
• Assist in coordination of the soft tissue Clinic.
• Coordinate hearing test program.
• Drug and alcohol screens as required.
• Coordinate sharps collection and disposal.
• Stock ordering.

Criteria:

• Must have First Aid qualification and nursing qualification would be an advantage.
• Injury management experience in a manufacturing facility would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of OH&S, Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation legislation.
• Highly developed interpersonal, written, organizational and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams as required.
