Heavymech Pty Ltd has some of the largest machining capability in South Australia. Our services include turning, vertical & horizontal boring, milling, grinding, slotting, weld reclamation services, and mechanical refurbishment work.
Heavymech is seeking the services of experienced First Class Machinists to join the team at our heavy engineering jobbing workshop. We are in the process of relocating our Northfield branch to a larger premises in Edinburgh, North of Adelaide
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant may be required to:
- Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, horizontal and vertical borers, milling machines, grinders, drills and slotters. Previous experience with horizontal borers would be an advantage.
- Conduct workshop based mechanical fitting including dismantling, inspection and condition reporting and assembly of mechanical components.
- Be flexible with working hours, including opportunities for regular overtime and weekend work.
Requirements:
- Fitter & Machinist Trade qualifications with proven experience in a machine shop.
- Ability to interpret and work from workshop drawings.
- A commitment to safe work practices.
- Work in a varied and challenging role.
- Hours: Mon-Fri, 38hrs p/w, 7am-3:06pm, with regular overtime available.
About You:
Applicant must be self-motivated, committed to WHS and safe work practices, have a positive, “can do” attitude; and work well in a team environment.
Applicants with extensive experience working in machine shops and operating a variety of different machine tools will be ideally suited to this position.
Ability to operate both manual and CNC machines is considered an advantage, as will the ability to program CNC equipment. Applicants must be comfortable to work in a busy jobbing workshop environment with a focus on providing great service to customers.
Candidates will be required to undergo a pre‑employment medical with drug and alcohol test and a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process.
