Fitment Engineer

Six Degrees have partnered with a market leader in the outdoor and adventure vehicle accessories space. They are based in Eastern Creek, NSW.
We are looking for a Fitment Engineer who will work alongside the R&D team to fit, experiment with  and test new products on newly released vehicles. In this role the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of engineering principles as well as being good with their hands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product development teams to design and develop fitments for product range, ensuring compatibility with various products and models.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to integrate fitment considerations into the overall product development process.
• Provide technical expertise and insights to support the development of innovative adventure and travel products.
• Plan Fitment and vehicle data acquisition activities.
• Plan and prepare for fitment activities.
• Perform vehicle fitments
• 3D scan vehicles and components
• Analyse new vehicles for fitment compatibility and strategies
• Remove trims and other vehicle components and document the process.
• Capture & document fitment information.
• Build relationships with vehicle supply network (dealers, etc).

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proven hands-on experience with vehicle or outdoor equipment fitment
• Experience with planning and scheduling work
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems and construction.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
• Driver’s licence.
