Form of work We are employing a Floor Fixer / Flooring Material Coordinator to operate within our family business structure. The successful applicant will be working with our Floor Fixer teams on the job and co-ordinating the material handling to site.
You’ll be based out of our beautiful showroom in Kalgoorlie - Boulder, working closely with our sales and admin team. We look forward to meeting you.
This is a full time position 38hours per week with the occasional Saturday required and overtime where required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
• Measuring areas to be covered and consulting plans to estimate quantities of floor covering materials required
• Preparing surfaces for covering and removing baseboard trims
• Measuring, cutting and fixing underlay materials
• Laying coverings, such as carpets, linoleum, parquetry blocks, cork tiles and other resilient FLOORING MATERIALs, over floors, matching patterns, cutting shapes around fixtures and trimming edges
• Securing floor coverings and fitting edge trims in doorways
• Sanding, staining and applying finishing coatings to timber floors
• May install wall, ceiling, counter and bench coverings
• Oversee and manage the storage and delivery of FLOORING MATERIALs
• Maintain warehouse to an ordered and tidy standard
• Store, stack, and label stock, linking in with client job sheets with Administration staff
• Assist subcontractors with delivering of stock to site and preparing site for install
• Installation of window treatments
• Tasks as directed
Essential
• Certificate III in Flooring Technology (completed or in progress) with experience preferred
• Excellent time management, ability to prioritise tasks and exercise initiative
• Sound written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Professional presentation, self-motivated and a want to achieve
• Strong work ethic, motivated, positive attitude, able to work as part of the team and as an individual.
• Pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen
• Provide a National Police Clearance
• Current “C” Class Drivers License
