Role Summary:

Front End Developer to join our Design System team, focusing on creating reusable React components on top of Material-UI. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong background in web development, ready to take on challenges independently while collaborating with global teams outside regular hours.

 

About You:

You are a self-starter passionate about developing efficient, scalable web applications using React and Material-UI. With at least 3 years of experience, you have mastered crafting advanced reusable component libraries and possess a keen eye for UI/UX design. Your ability to work independently, coupled with your readiness for out-of-hours collaboration, makes you the perfect candidate for this role.

 

Education:

Background in computer sciences, engineering, business, or relevant tertiary education, providing a solid foundation for developing and implementing new solutions.

Communication Skills:

Ability to coach clients and internal stakeholders in engineering best practices, ensuring effective collaboration through improved communication based on a shared technical vocabulary.

 

Role Requirements:

• React and Design System Expertise: At least 3 years of experience in developing complex React components, including libraries and style guides with CSS variables and tokens, with a strong focus on Material-UI.

• UX/UI Design Skills: A comprehensive understanding of UX/UI design to enhance the user experience and how to use Figma plugins for generating tokens and React components.

• Storybook Proficiency: Experience in setting up and managing components in Storybook version 7, including custom plugin setup in Storybook for and writing interactive unit tests using Storybook addons and the React Testing Library.

• Accessibility Knowledge: Strong experience in implementing Accessibility best practices in React and web components, following the WCAG documentation.

• Accessibility Testing: Experience writing unit tests using the Axe library and the React Testing library to ensure accessibility compliance and quality of components.

• NPM Package and GitHub Actions: Proficiency in setting up NPM packages and orchestrating releases using GitHub Actions. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of package management and version control workflows.

• Technical Mastery: Showcase advanced skills in TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, styled components, and the development of intricate, reusable web components, supporting the creation of new solutions and the enhancement of existing ones.

• Tool Proficiency: Proven experience with WebPack and Vite in the development and support of design system libraries, aligning with the technical requirements for maintaining and improving software/hardware solutions/products.

• Testing Acumen: Proficient in Jest and React Testing Library, focusing on maintaining high code quality for both new and existing solutions.

• Agile and SCRUM Experience: Bring a strong background in agile methodologies, essential for contributing to Scrum meetings, managing sprints, and handling backlogs using JIRA for the continuous development and improvement of software/hardware solutions/products.
