Food & Beverage Services Manager | Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill
The Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill is located on the central city fringe, just minutes from the CBD, Brisbane River, Suncorp Stadium and public transport. Overlooking the city skyline and Roma St Parklands, the Hotel features 179 spacious guest rooms with generous open-aired balconies, modern amenities, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room, and an alfresco-style restaurant and bar.
The Hotel has an opportunity for a passionate and experienced Food & Beverage Services Manager to join the leadership team – restaurant & conference facilities.
Reporting directly to the General Manager this role will work collaboratively with the Sales & Marketing Manager, Executive Chef and other business leaders to bring marketing concepts to life, driving financial performance, guest passion and team development.
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:
- A creative and innovative leader up to date with ‘in trend’ Food & Beverage concepts and ideas.
- A leader genuinely passionate for providing exceptional customer service, motivated to train and develop a team to share this passion.
- An experienced leader of a team with a proven ability to drive performance whilst maintaining team engagement.
- Hold their ‘Responsible Management of licenced venues’ certificate or be willing to obtain.
- A sound knowledge of the operational requirements of a hotel’s restaurant and conferencing, including the ability to train others on their product knowledge - wine, cocktail and barista skills.
- Computer literate with strong administration skills.
- Unlimited work rights in Australia.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- The overall effective management of the Hotel’s food and beverage operation, restaurant, bar, room service, and conferencing and events.
- Ensuring the department remains cost efficient, in line with the budgetary requirements, including the management of product and payroll costs.
- Ensure rostering requirements in line with the Hospitality Award 2020.
- Creating structured training programs for the team, ensuring team members are appraised and performance concerns addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring OH&S and sustainability commitments are upheld within the department
