An opportunity now exists for a Food and Beverage Workplace Trainer to support our teams to achieve a consistently high standard of service, and ultimately create memorable dining experiences for our discerning guests.

Your Role
You’ll support our qualia management team and Hamilton Island's Learning and Development department to ensure a high standard of training delivery, assessment and service standards to ensure our team consistently attains the highest level of productivity and professionalism.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Introduce and induct each new employee into qualia's restaurants
• Manage the capability & competency framework for all food and beverage team members
• Ensure our food and beverage team members are equipped with the necessary skills to successfully perform their role
• Identify ways to improve business processes/systems to increase efficiency
• Review and update existing training programs
• Conduct training needs analysis, maintain records, provide reports/statistics, and advise of additional training requirements
• Attend briefings, meetings to maintain effective communication channels

About You
You are a true F&B training professional and strive to excel in your career.  You are passionate about developing your team to reach extraordinary levels of service, and have excellent communication skills at all levels.

You will also have:

• Strong and thorough knowledge of fine dining, including a la carte and tasting menus, wines and wine pairings
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a supervisory or training role within a 5-star hotel environment (ideal)
• 6 years’ work experience in Food and Beverage, including Luxury Lodge, Michelin Star or Hatted Restaurant experience (Ideal)
• Current Driver’s license (Essential)
• Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for Responsible Service of Alcohol (Essential)
• Impeccable personal presentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly and enthusiastic attitude
• Reliability and flexibility in terms of shifts and rosters
• Dedicated to stay minimum of 12 months & passionate about progressing in career

• Award rates – Level 5 of the Hospitality Industry General Award with overtime paid at penalty rates (150%, 200%)
